BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or adding an additional lock to circumvent the security system.
The Ghost is different from other immobilisers because it doesn't use key fobs or LED indicators. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you enter a unique disarming sequence that you only know.
Stop & Start
If you have ever driven a new BMW or used the stop start feature, then you might have noticed that after stopping the engine will continue to be running for approximately 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuously monitoring your vehicle for signals from the ignition key, and once it is detected, it will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle every time you hit a button.
Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is hooked up to your BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that is accessible through buttons in your car. This allows you to enter a specific key push sequence that is not in the normal menus for media, like volume up/down or cruise control, source or air conditioning on, which prevents your car from starting until the sequence is entered. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 numbers which makes it extremely difficult for thieves to determine or crack.
We can also add the ability to use a service/valet feature. This is activated while your vehicle is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. This can be achieved by pressing the service button on your infotainment system five times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return, the Ghost will re-arm automatically.
Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for high-end vehicles. It's completely undetectable and does not require cutting any wiring in the factory and can shut down the engine of your vehicle when a wrong pin code is entered. Service Mode / Valet Mode
The Ghost is the most effective immobiliser available. It stops your vehicle from being stolen through key cloning or hacking. It uses the factory buttons of your vehicle to create an unique sequence of pushes that only you know. It is similar to pin code security for your mobile phone. It's subtle and extremely effective, not to mention deterring even the most determined thieves from ever trying!
If you are parked at home or in a meeting and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start the vehicle with your keys, but it stops the engine from starting until the correct code is entered. This is ideal for those who need to turn their cars to valet businesses or other trusted friends & family members. It also allows you to get the car into the garage for servicing etc without worrying about it being tampered with or stolen by a mechanic while you are waiting.
If the service/valet mode has been activated, your BMW is unable to drive after it is started. This stops anyone else from attempting to drive it while you are away. After you return, it will revert back to normal, preventing your vehicle from being tampered with or stolen again.
We can install the Ghost to any BMW all you require is the right keys as the device doesn't use the original remotes and can be used with them. Anti-Hijack
Ghost developed this discreet device that is obtrusive, and unobtrusive to fight the increasing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from acquiring a new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your car and then drive it away. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons on your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console, as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence which needs to be completed before the engine can start.
Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will sharpen the horn flashing the indicators, and stop the vehicle if the code is not found. By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without the need to enter PIN.
If you own a GPS device linked up to your BMW it can be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, so you can still use the navigation system in your car when the vehicle is parked unsupervised. You can also use your smartphone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.
This product is Tassa-certified and is recognized by a majority of insurance companies. It reduces the chance of your pride and Joy being stolen. It is discreet and completely inconspicuous, it does not interfere with the vehicle's functionality or require any special programming skills to install or operate. Remote Control
We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile app for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful if mechanics or valets need to start your car and you have to be somewhere and not in the vicinity. The system allows you to turn your vehicle on, select drive and exit service mode without needing your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle on an interactive map on your smartphone.
The Ghost can be positioned under the dashboard, or within the centre console. It is completely concealed and secure, and does not require any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal pin code is programmed in it. The pin code has to be chosen before the vehicle starts. This will prevent thieves from gaining access to the system by using an unauthorized clone or replacement ECU.
If the vehicle is taken away, the Ghost will enter service mode and shut down all functions unless you have a PIN code or can use the mobile application to disarm it. This is a feature that was designed to protect your vehicle from high tech thieves who are now utilising relay boxes to steal your vehicle. This will prevent thieves from using mobile phones to turn on your sat-navs or mp3 players to track your vehicle!
Ghost also blocks 'Relay-style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most frequent method of stealing a vehicle with a keyfob which has been duplicated or stolen through hacking. Ghost allows you to prevent this from happening by installing a device called Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is installed inside the key-fob of your vehicle and shuts off its battery after a few inactive minutes. This is possible with most modern PKE keys.
